Man tells girlfriend’s family to pack their things and GTFO after tying up his dog

Every home has its own rules that people must follow whenever they are invited. When you enter someone else’s personal space, you can’t help but respect it by acting in accordance with what you consider normal. To do otherwise is simply unacceptable and rude.

In some parts of the world, pets are treated differently, in some regions it is considered normal to not allow pets into your home, especially farmed animals. If you are used to this, then when you see a dog indoors, you will immediately become excited because this is not what you are used to.

Reddit user u/Comfortable-Ad7073 posted on the r/AmItheA**hole subreddit explaining how he kicked his girlfriend’s parents out of their house after he discovered they had tied up his dog. Comfortable-Ad7073 wasn’t sure if what he did was appropriate and decided to ask the Reddit community for their opinion.

He noticed one morning the boot was nowhere to be seen.

OP could not tolerate what his GF’s family did, so he kicked them.

Why even tie him up in the first place?

Your home, your dog, your rules.

“Large dogs who patrol the property are treated just like the other farm animals”

Dogs are family members and should be treated accordingly.

They failed to meet the minimum.

What they did is even illegal in some states.

It’s his home and they are guests.

GF’s family didn’t respect OP’s house rules and disrespected him by tying up his dog. He had every right to kick them out of the house because they disrespected one of his family members and treated him poorly.

The OP is definitely not a jerk about this, the family went too far by tying Boots up. They could have just taken him outside and let him just hang out, but instead, they restricted his movements and tied him up.

This is completely unacceptable and they could at least apologize for it.
