Red-Shanked Douc is known as the most colorful Primate on the planet. It has a vibrant orange-yellow face and a reddish-brown neck and legs. They are very rare in the premature community.
This species is also noticeable with white whiskers and arms, creating a striking contrast with its black and gray fur on the body. Some people think they jump from books but they are in the jungle.
Along with beautiful fur, these animals also make a name for their unique tails. It reaches 2.5 feet and has a distinctive white skin triangle around the bottom.
Living in parts of Asia, red dock primates are found in Vietnam and Cambodia. His name means “five-colored macaque” in Vietnamese.
They prefer to live in groups on treetops where they look for leaves, flowers, buds, seeds, and fruits to eat. It is rare to see these animals on earth.
However, due to habitat loss, the population of Red-Shanked Douc has dropped dramatically.
Another reason for the loss of this unique species is poaching. They are considered an excellent ingredient in traditional medicine.
If we, humans, want future generations to see this special primate, we must take action to protect it.
